Let me tell you a story of someone I know,

Someone that I met, many years long ago,

He's played music for many all over this land,

And he's special to me, the old accordion man.

 

제가 아는 어느 분의 이야기를 할게요.

아주 여러해 전에 만난 어느 분이지요

그분은 온 나라의 많은 이들에게 그의 연주를 들려주셨죠.

그런데 그 아코디언 할아버지 그분은 나에게 특별하셨어요.

 

He's played reels for the dancing, for young and for old,

He's had stories to tell, as his memories unfold,

And he's travelled the road, and I now understand,

Why he's special to me, the old accordion man.

 

그분은 젊은이와 노인들이 춤출 수있게 경쾌한

스코틀랜드 춤곡을 연주했어요.

그분이 자신의 추억을 회상하면서 사람들에게 들려줄 이야기가 많았지요.

또 길을 따라 여행하셨는데 지금은 제가 이해하지요

왜 그 아코디언 할아버지 그분이 제게 특별하셨는지를.

 

He'll play songs that will take you away back in time,

Like Maggie, Dark Island and Mother of Mine,

But of all the fine medley's and songs he can play,

Dark Lochnagar stays in my heart today.

 

그분은 사람들을 옛 추억으로 가게 하는 노래들을 부르지요

매기의 추억, 어두운 나라 그리고 나의 어머니...

그분이 부를 수 있는 멋진 모든 메들리들 중에서

어두운 라크나거가 오늘 내 마음에 머무르네요.

 

Many years have gone by but I still hear the sound,

As he played on the stage, with the band all around,

And his music has grown as he's travelled the land,

He's respected by all, the old accordion man.

 

많은 해가 흘러가버렸지만 아직도 내 귀에 그 노랫소리가 들려와요.

그분이 악단에 둘러싸여서 무대에서 연주하시며

온 나라를 여행하시는 동안에 그분의 음악은 성장해갔지요

그 아코디언 할아버지 그분은 모든 이들에게 존경받았어요
